A structure built by Tedesco Construction Services Inc. of Lewiston has been honored by Varco Pruden Buildings, one of the nation's largest providers of metal building systems.

Tedesco Construction Services was named to Varco Pruden's 2011 Hall of Fame for its work on the Fairgrounds Casino in Hamburg. The 66,000-square-foot casino gaming facility was completed in May of 2010.

The highly competitive Hall of Fame Awards are presented annually to the independent authorized Varco Pruden builders whose work reflects outstanding integration of building systems, products, architectural appearance, end use and design. Varco Pruden, a division of BlueScope Buildings North America Inc., has a network of more than 1,000 builders in the U.S. and Canada. Varco Pruden's Hall of Fame Awards are presented for a range of industrial, commercial, retail and municipal projects.

The pre-engineered metal building included a 10,000-square-foot second floor mezzanine for offices, mechanical lean-to out building, and high R-value four-inch insulated metl-span roof and wall systems. LP Ciminelli acted as the construction manager for the project, and the architectural firm was BHNT Architect's. The project was recognized as "green" and lead certified.

The casino is open seven days a week for gaming and entertainment.

"The Hall of Fame is proof positive that our builders continue to challenge the boundaries by seeking new and innovative ways to prove that pre-engineered buildings are the system of choice," said Chuck Haslebacher, president of Varco Pruden.

"It was a great honor to have the Fairgrounds Casino building selected to VP's Hall of Fame and to be chosen as the best in category for recreation buildings," said Tedesco President/Owner Jeffrey M. Tedesco.

Tedesco Construction Services is located 210 S. Ninth St., Lewiston.
