Saturday, March 19, is the celebration of St. Joseph's Day at the Winery at Marjim Manor, 7171 E. Lake Road, Appleton.
St. Joseph's Day began when a famine plagued Sicily, Italy. After the people of Sicily prayed to their patron saint, St. Joseph, they were blessed with rain for the crops, which gave way to a celebration in the form of a feast that was enjoyed by all.
The event at Marjim Manor will remember that special day by holding a meatless dinner in honor of Lent. It consisting of pastas, bread, bean dishes and desserts.
The St. Joseph's Table will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Donations of food or money are welcomed and will be donated to a local food pantry.
