WBA installs 2011 officers

The election of the 2011 Wheatfield Business Association's officers and board members was held at the annual Christmas/Holiday party on Dec. 13 at the Meeting Place in Bergholz. The newly elected Wheatfield Business Association 2011 officers and board members were sworn into office by Wheatfield Supervisor Robert Cliffe at the Feb. 17 meeting held in the Wheatfield Community/Senior Center.

The 2011 board members are: Gillis Dube, two-year term; and Calvin Pfohl, one-year term. The WBA officers are Sharon DiPasquale, president, and Jim Candella, vice president. Rob Allen was re-elected as treasurer and Danny Maerten re-elected as secretary. Neal Klettke was sworn in for the second year of his two-year term as board member and M. J. Brzeczkowski as membership chairperson.

Imperial Fence was recognized as Wheatfield Business of the Year and Dan Beck was acknowledged as Wheatfield Business Person of the Year.

During 2010, the WBA witnessed the addition of several businesses to its membership, including: Kevin Garlock of Custom Curb Appeal, Gary Edge of Panamind LLC, Sam Conti of Wheatfield Pool & Spa, Jennifer Dietzer of Bedore Tours, Jeremy Higgins of EMS Group-Stalka Agency Inc., and Lori Martinez of Hope! During the evening's meeting, Adam Savard of HSBC Bank was accepted as WBA's newest member.

The Wheatfield Business Association's plaque that is displayed in the Wheatfield Town Hall was on presentation throughout the meeting with the updated plates highlighting the WBA's presidents, businesses of the year and businesspersons of the year.

The WBA again will be awarding scholarships to Wheatfield's graduating high school students. Details will be addressed at the next meeting.
