The Smokin' Eagles International BBQ Festival and The Old Falls Street Rib Fest have teamed up with Artisan Kitchens and Baths in Buffalo, to bring in three international barbecue instructors for a class on the art of Southern barbecue.

The "four food groups" of barbecue include pork rib, chicken, pork butts and beef brisket. Learn how to choose the right one and how to cook this cut to the first place in any barbecue competition with great flavor, tenderness and appearance. Rob Giordano of Lewiston, a member of the Smokin' Eagles team, also will demonstrate how to cook with a dutch oven using charcoal during this event.

The three instructors will be:

•Rocky Danner, World BBQ Association organizer and past vice president, a writer in the National Barbecue News and a grand champion in several barbecue events around the world.

•Danny Montgomery has his own record of grand championships from Memphis in May and the Jack Daniels Invitational, as well as being a past Mississippi state champion.

•Jeff Danner, a champion cooker in his own right, following in his father's footsteps.

The class starts at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Nickel City Chef kitchen in the showroom of Artisan Kitchens & Baths, 200 Amherst St., Buffalo.
