WNY Chamber Alliance hosts legislative forum

The WNY Chamber Alliance, an organization of 27 local chambers of commerce working together to represent and promote the interests of their chambers and the business community of Western New York State, will hold a legislative forum on Friday, March 11, from 7:30 until 9:30 a.m. at Michael's Banquet Facility, 4885 Southwestern Blvd., Hamburg.

The alliance is inviting 18 New York state senators and Assembly members from the eight-county region represented by the alliance members to a question-and-answer session. Topics will include but are not limited to Medicaid reform, state pension reform, prevailing wages, workers comp, unfunded mandates, property tax cap, sales tax audits and UB2020.

The WNYCA is inviting its 20,000 members and other interested business and community leaders to attend.

The forum will start at 7:30 a.m. with registration and breakfast, followed by an 8 a.m. program start with moderator Kathy Konst, Erie County commissioner of environment and planning, and a former president of the Lancaster Area Chamber of Commerce. The program will conclude at 9:30 a.m. The cost is $10 per person.
