Gleason's girls do well at Brockport

Gleason's Gymnastics' Niagara Frontier Level Five Team recently participated in its first meet of the season, the Candy Cane Classic Meet at Brockport College. The team took fourth place.

In the 7-9 age group, Jenna Peterson, a fourth-grader at Errick Road Elementary, placed sixth all-around for her age group with an overall score of 34.225. She placed fifth on bars, sixth on vault and eighth on beam.

For the 11 year old age group, Samantha Cirrito, a fifth-grader at West Street Elementary, placed second all around with an overall score of 35.875. Her high score of the day, 9.2 placed her second on floor. She also placed first on bars and vault, and fifth on beam.

Maddie Walton, a sixth-grader at Edward Town Middle School, placed fifth all around with a score of 33.875. She placed fourth on floor, sixth on vault, seventh on beam, and eighth on bars.

In the 12 and up group, Samantha Peterson, a seventh-grader at Edward Town Middle School, placed fourth all around with an overall score of 34.925. Her high score of the day came on beam, 9.2, which earned her third place for the event. She also placed fourth on bars, eighth on vault and ninth on floor.

•Also at the Candy Cane Classic, Gleason's Level 6 team member in the 7-to-9-year-olds division, Logan Sobczyk, a third-grader at Errick Road Elementary School, earned fourth in all- around.  She placed first on vault, fifth of bars, and sixth of floor.
