Jeffrey Schara will be seen on NBC's "30 Rock" airing Thursday, Sept. 23, at 9:30 p.m. (ET) Schara grew up in Williamsville, and is pursuing his acting career in New York City. He will be featured in the first episode of the sitcom's fifth season.

Schara is a graduate of Williamsville South High School and Ithaca College, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theater. As a local actor, Schara has performed at the Studio Arena Theatre, the Lancaster Opera House and the Palace Theatre.

After moving to New York City, Schara worked as an extra for many television shows and films including "Gossip Girl," "Ugly Betty," "Eat, Pray, Love" with Julia Roberts, and "Going the Distance" with Drew Barrymore.

Schara met the casting director of "30 Rock" at an acting class in January. It wasn't until the beginning of August when he was called in by NBC for a role on Tina Fey's sitcom.

"I was ecstatic that they called me," Schara said. "It's my favorite TV show!"

Schara wrapped filming in the middle of August. He said, "Shooting was surreal. The entire cast was so down to earth and welcoming. It was a really wonderful experience."

Schara recently visited Los Angeles and has plans to act on both coasts in the near future.
