Girl Scouts of Western New York (GSWNY) announced a special event in collaboration with BraidBabes to celebrate the National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend (Feb. 16-18). Organizers said, “Join us for a unique experience featuring Girl Scout cookie-inspired braids, tasty treats and exclusive merchandise.”

From 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Walden Galleria Mall, BraidBabes will have a pay-per-braid bar, allowing attendees to choose from a variety of braids priced between $15 and $30. A press release stated, “The talented staff at BraidBabes will transform your hair into delectable designs inspired by your favorite Girl Scout cookies.

“In addition to the fabulous braids, indulge in the delightful flavors of Girl Scout cookies while learning about day and overnight camps. Get creative and craft your very own Girl Scout friendship bracelet. Don't miss the chance to shop for exclusive Girl Scout cookie-inspired merchandise at our pop-up Girl Scout Shop – a perfect blend of style and Girl Scout spirit. Visit www.gswny.org/braidbabes.”

The press release added, “This year's Cookie Season brings not only the delight of classic treats like Thin Mints, Adventurefuls, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Lemonades, Toast-Yays and Trefoils, but also an opportunity to contribute to the development of essential leadership skills. Over the next few months, Girl Scouts undergo a transformative journey, learning five skills crucial to leadership, success and life.”

That includes:

√ Goal setting: Girl Scouts learn how to set goals and create a plan to reach them.

√ Decision-making: Girl Scouts learn to make decisions on their own and as a team.

√ Money management: Girl Scouts learn how to create a budget and handle money.

√ People skills: Girl Scouts find their voice and build confidence through customer interactions.

√ Business ethics: Girl Scouts learn to act ethically, both in business and in life.

All cookie varieties will be priced at $6 per package, with 100% of all proceeds staying local within Girl Scouts of Western New York.
