Niagara Falls Public Library to hold history talk from Underground Railroad Heritage Center

To help commemorate and exhibit the city’s history, the local history department at the Niagara Falls Public Library has recently started its own speaker series. Each month, staffers invite speakers and institutions from across Niagara Falls to speak on topics that have shaped the Niagara Falls community. During each event, materials documenting the city’s history and various communities from the local history department’s collections are made available for attendees to view outside of the archives.

For the next session, representatives from the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center will offer a talk titled, “Local Black History: Connections to the Past and Present.” The presentation will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at the Niagara Falls Public Library, LaSalle branch.
