National esports player Dominique “Sonic Fox” McLean donated $500 to a GoFundMe campaign for Buffalo player Jon “MeVsZomb” Armstrong, closing out the campaign’s goal of $5,000.

“Without a home, there is nowhere for him to be picked up from on the way to locals,” Matthew “MonkeyBizness” Hogan said on the donation page, “and there is no way for him to feel safe and comfortable enough to engage with any of his hobbies, or to live as peaceably and happily as he ought to. So let’s all do something about it.”

The campaign, which was started by the Buffalo FGC, aimed to provide aid for Armstrong and his family. They were, unfortunately, forced to evacuate their home in Dunkirk due to an extraneous house fire.

Within less than a week of the campaign starting, it had already racked up well over half the funding the goal was set for.

The venue fee for each player at this past weekend’s casual games at Cheektowaga’s Heart of the Game was also used to offset these costs.

McLean’s donation brought the campaign to $5,310, much more than it set out for.

The funds will be used to aid Armstrong and his family in relocating, as well as other necessities.
