Niagara Hospice Mighty Niagara Half Marathon named in Top 10 half marathons around world

Niagara Hospice announced its annual Mighty Niagara Half Marathon has been named in Top 10 Destination Half Marathons Around the World by Outdoors Wire powered by USA Today Sports.

This year’s race is Saturday, Sept. 30, and includes the Mighty Niagara Half Marathon. which kicks off at Artpark State Park in Lewiston; and the Hospice Dash 5K, which starts at Porter on the Lake Town Park in Porter. Both races finish at Porter on the Lake Town Park, where a post-race celebration is being held for registered participants, family and friends.

Described by Outdoors Wire as a “breathtaking downhill course that follows the Niagara River,” the Mighty Niagara 13.1-mile run is a USATF-certified course offering scenic views of two historic villages, four state parks, the lower Niagara River, Lake Ontario, Canada and the Toronto skyline. Trophies, cash prizes, medals and pins will be presented to runners for various levels of achievements. The post-race celebration includes food, free beer from Brickyard Brewing Company, and live music by Soul Committee.

Presented by Cornerstone Community Federal Credit Union, the annual Mighty Niagara has had 13,750 participants since its inception. Proceeds from the event support the specialized care and services provided by the organization.
