Destination Niagara USA expands sales team

Holly Avino and Courtney Paterson join sales team

Destination Niagara USA recently added two new team members to its staff, as the demand for group travel and conventions in Niagara Falls USA continues to rise. Holly Avino (travel trade sales manager) and Courtney Paterson (convention sales manager) are the latest hires for the destination marketing organization (DMO).

Avino has previous experience with Destination Niagara USA, serving as a visitor service representative and then sales coordinator until August of 2020. Most recently, she worked for Visit Rochester as a marketing and events coordinator. In her position as travel trade sales manager, Avino will develop and promote group leisure visitation to Niagara Falls USA. She has already attended several tradeshows to promote Niagara Falls USA, and assisted with familiarization tours for tour operators exploring the destination.

New to the travel and tourism industry, Paterson will serve as the convention sales manager. Prior to joining the team at Destination Niagara USA, she was the logistics and show service coordinator for Hadley Exhibits of Buffalo. In her new role, Paterson will prospect and sell specialty meetings in Niagara County, as well as provide support service to all booked conventions and meetings.

A press release stated, “In May of this year, the last of the remaining COVID travel restrictions were lifted, allowing for international travelers to enter the United States with fewer barriers. This, coupled with the return of in-person meetings and conventions, have created more opportunities for leisure and convention attendees to stay in Niagara Falls USA.”

Destination Niagara USA President and CEO John Percy said, “The expansion of our sales team is a strategic move in response to the growing demand for travel to our destination. Adding Holly and Courtney to our staff enhances the services we offer in order to better promote Niagara Falls USA both domestically and internationally.”
