Erie County Fair admission tickets go on sale

“The Best 12 Days of Summer” are just six weeks away.

Admission tickets for the Erie County Fair go on sale starting July 1 at www.ECFair.org. Adult admission tickets are $17 when purchased online (no additional fees) or $20 at the gate (credit/debit card only). Kids ages 12 and under receive free admission. Parking will be free (on lots owned by the Fairgrounds).

The Erie County Fair exclusively sells admission tickets on ECFair.org and cannot guarantee the authenticity of tickets not purchased directly from the Fair website.

Admission specials for the 183rd Erie County Fair:

√ Free admission on Aug. 9 with a donation of four or more cans of nonperishable food to benefit FeedMore WNY.

√ “Firefighters Day” will be Aug. 11, with free admission for firefighters and auxiliary members (with proper ID). Tickets will be available online or at the gate. Firefighters will receive a $10 voucher valid for food, beverage or rides.

√ “Veterans Day” will be Aug. 13, with free admission for veterans, active military and auxiliary members (with proper ID). Tickets will be available online or at the gate. Veterans and active military will also receive a $10 voucher valid for food, beverage or rides.

Additionally, The Buffalo News Grandstand will feature free acts included with gate admission:

√ On Aug. 9, fairgoers can hear Chubby Checker, an American rock ‘n’ roll singer best known for his dance move, “The Twist,” and many other chart-topping hits.

√ The “ATV Big Air Tour” will perform two action-packed shows on Aug. 16, with talented ATV, motorcycle, UTV and BMX riders performing.

√ Legendary Canadian band The Guess Who will perform the hits on Aug. 17, including “American Woman.”

√ The Spinners, one of the most iconic groups in R&B history, is “Working My Way Back To You” on Aug. 18.

In addition, gate admission includes a variety of free entertainment throughout the grounds, including:

√ Hear 50-plus free live bands, including the Ramblin’ Lou Family Band, Dave & Cyn, Hit-N-Run, Wail On, and The New Direction Polka Band.

√ See 70-plus free daily performances, including some of the favorites like John Cassidy The Bizarre Balloonologist, Hilby – the Skinny German Juggle Boy, the Chainsaw Carver, Flippen Out aerial stunts, Mobile Glass Blowing, Ninja Experience, Strolling Piano, Swifty Swine Racing Pigs, Benjamin Jackson Comedy Hypnotist Show, Ultimate Stunt Circus, and Zoltar: Fortune Teller. There will also be some new acts, including the 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit, Jetpack Flying Water Circus, Alley-Cats Doo-Wap Acapella Group, Banecek’s Mind Games, Buckets N Boards Comedy Percussion Show, and Cast in Bronze.

√ Learn about agriculture at the livestock shows, Little Hands on the Farm, and the Agriculture Discovery Center.

The Erie County Fair will continue to host sensory hours between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Aug. 16, with the midway starting at noon. A press release stated, “This is an opportunity for individuals with sensory or autism disorders to experience sensory-sensitive activities at the Fair. In addition, the sensory room is open during Fair hours throughout the 12-day event, and includes ambient sound, calming lights, weighted blankets and sensory kits.”

New this year, the Erie County Fair will offer Hands-Only CPR trainings daily at the Firemen’s Building in partnership with the American Red Cross, OSEA and Erie County Department of Health.
