Youngstown Cub Scout Pack 829 is recruiting new boys and girls, who will start kindergarten through 5th grade in September, to join the pack. The group’s Scouts and parents will have a table and camping tent set up at the Youngstown Street Dance on from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 22, on Main Street. Curious families are welcome to stop by to learn about the group, pick up a program schedule, and meet the leaders.

“Families looking for ways to teach their children through well-rounded and service-based experiences are a great fit for Cub Scouting,” said Charlotte Clark, Cubmaster of Pack 829. "Cub Scouting uses fun activities to teach children how to be good citizens, learn leadership skills and develop themselves into well-rounded people. We go camping; hiking; build and fly rockets, and race pinewood derby cars; learn about first-aid and how to build campfires; visit community organizations and provide community service during our program year. We do this with these goals in mind: to increase their understanding of the community around them and inspire them to be helpers in the world."

The pack currently has 26 Scouts and has room to grow.
