Artpark to welcome Alvvays with Alex G

Tickets for Sept. 1 show go on sale Friday

Alvvays, a Canadian pop-indie band based out of Toronto, will perform with special guest Alex G in the Artpark Mainstage Theater at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1. This concert is presented by Artpark and Funtime.

Alvvays (pronounced "always") made their late-night TV debut on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” and is currently on tour across North America. The band will then tour Europe for a few months, before returning back this summer.

Alex G is an indie-rock musician, singer-songwriter from Havertown, Pennsylvania. The Philadelphia Inquirer praised him as "a particularly gifted melody writer" whose "fuzzy, sometimes distorted songs, which hark back to slightly askew 1990s bands such as Pavement, can't hide his skill as a pop craftsman and a constructor of elliptical narratives that call for repeated listening."

Indoor reserved seats go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 3.

General admission pit (standing) starts at $75, with reserved seats from $35. Ticket prices include a facility fee. Additional fees apply for online orders.

Tickets will be available for purchase online at ticketmaster.com. The Artpark box office will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at 450 S. Fourth St., Lewiston.
