The Niagara University Purple Eagles women's lacrosse and softball teams are navigating their practice and game schedules around the winter weather on the ridge. The women's softball team is preparing both indoors and outdoors for its upcoming spring series games in Hawaii, as the women's lacrosse team bundles up outdoors as the unpredictable weather continues.

The field was lifeless this windy day. Despite some teams being able to practice, the NU Women's Club Lacrosse team had to push over the nets, bring inside the lacrosse balls and cancel practice due to the high-velocity wind speeds.

February is an important month for Niagara University’s softball team as it is less than two weeks away from the Hawaii Spring Fling and Hawaiian Wahine Classic.

The sun was deceiving, making it look like a sunny, warm, calm day. Temperature high of the day was 60 °F and sunny at 2:53 p.m., but the winds were roaring. Wind gusts went up as high as 31 mph throughout the day.

The Purple Eagles hit the gym preparing for a demanding two weeks of games on the beautiful island of Hawaii from Thursday, March 2, to Tuesday, March 14.

Niagara University Women's Club Lacrosse will hold their first home game Feb. 26 against Geneseo Women's Club Lacrosse on the home Niagara turf.

In the midst of practices and lifts, the squad takes on the Niagara University Kiernan Center Thursday morning at 7 a.m. to enjoy moments of relaxation before hitting the books.
