Fundraiser for 2022 PAL ‘Camp Champs’ summer giving campaign

City of Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, chair of the Police Athletic League of Buffalo board of directors, invites the public to assist PAL’s summer education and sports camps through “PAL Taco Tuesday,” a 2022 “Camp Champs” fundraising event.

The event takes place tonight, from 5-7 p.m., at Hombre Y Lobo, 149 Swan St. Tickets for the fundraiser are $30 and $50, and include three sheets of tickets for more than a dozen deluxe raffle baskets, tacos, margaritas, games and prizes.

“This will be an enjoyable way to support PAL’s educational and athletic camps, which provides six weeks of summer programming for thousands of City of Buffalo youngsters and teens in grades K-12,” Brown said.

“PAL Educational Summer Camp plays a critical role in reducing summer learning loss in City of Buffalo youth. Camp programs also keep kids and teens engaged in healthy athletic and wellness activities, which will take place at safe recreation facilities and parks citywide. Campers have a great time, while they receive ongoing support from nurturing teachers, coaches and mentors, in partnership with law enforcement.”

Through the PAL “Camp Champs” campaign, the goal is to raise $30,000 by June 30, to provide more than 5,000 youth with “meaningful and enjoyable summer camp experiences.”

Presale tickets for tonight’s “PAL Taco Tuesday” are available at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/buffalo-pal-camp- champs-taco-tuesday-fundraiser-tickets-356453170027.

Tickets can also be purchased at the door. Raffle winners do not need to be present to win.
