M&T Bank continues to make investments in its branch and ATM network. On Thursday, the company announced it has added 20 ATMs to its network in Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, and Erie, Pennsylvania, through a partnership with Delta Sonic, the region’s largest automatic car wash and gas station chain. The new ATMs expand surcharge-free account access for M&T Bank customers.
“We are excited to provide our customers with expanded access to their banking services,” said Rich McCarthy, head of retail banking at M&T. “Our new ATMs are located at places we know our customers frequent, making it even easier to access their money and bank when and where they want.”
The ATMs feature the latest technology and allow customers to get cash, make transfers between accounts, and check account balances. There are no access fees for M&T Bank customers using one of the more than 1,200 M&T Bank ATMs across the Northeast.
“Like our neighbors at M&T, we are a company founded and based in Western New York that strives to provide excellent customer service,” said John Peach, chief retail officer at Delta Sonic. “The recent addition of these convenient M&T ATMs in our stores is another way we can enhance our customers’ experience with Delta Sonic.”
ATMs that Converse in Customers’ Native Language
Recently, M&T Bank expanded the language options at its ATMs to include Korean and Chinese, in addition to the existing English and Spanish. The upgrade is part of an ongoing investment in branch and ATM infrastructure to better support multicultural consumers and create meaningful, distinctive M&T experiences for them.
Expanding in New & Existing Markets
In addition to growing its ATM network in well-established markets, M&T Bank is committed to expanding into new markets. In February, M&T announced it had entered into an agreement to acquire People’s United, a financial holding company headquartered in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Following receipt of required regulatory approval and the closing of the transaction, M&T will expand its presence in New England and create a network of more than 1,100 branches and over 2,000 ATMs that spans 12 states from Maine to Virginia and the District of Columbia.
As part of this announcement, the following Delta Sonic locations in the Buffalo-Niagara region have been equipped with M&T Bank ATMs:
M&T Bank customers can also access online banking and the M&T mobile app to view transactions, check balances, deposit checks and more. Customers can also send and receive person-to-person payments via Zelle. A U.S. checking or savings account is required to use Zelle. Transactions between enrolled consumers typically occur in minutes.
