KeyBank said it is launching its #KeyBankAssists program, which supports small businesses, nonprofits and families in Buffalo, as well as across several communities the bank serves. So far, in response to the impact of COVID-19 on communities, the #KeyBankAssists program has provided more than $1 million through unique consumer and small business giveaways, as well as donations to front-line workers and local charities.

Starting on Giving Tuesday, KeyBank has teamed up with chef Darian Bryan from The Plating Society to support local restaurants and surprise people across Western New York. KeyBank will surprise patrons at several local restaurants with gift cards, as well as with gift cards giveaways on the influencer’s social channel. The gift card purchases will deliver support to small businesses and individuals as the community continues to recover from the economic impact of the pandemic.

KeyBank will be donating $5,000 to FeedMore WNY to support efforts to help families in need this holiday season. Additionally, KeyBank and Bryan will donate $5,000 to Buffalo City Mission.

“Our entire community has been impacted by the spread of COVID-19,” said Michael McMahon, KeyBank Buffalo market president and commercial sales leader. “While we have made strides, many businesses, nonprofits and individuals in our community are continuing to struggle economically. Despite our progress, our communities still need our help, and all of us at KeyBank are pleased to be able to provide this much-needed assistance that will help them sustain and get through COVID-19.”

Food Network star Molly Yeh is lending her voice in this effort as well, spreading the word on social media about what #KeyBankAssists is doing across the country to support communities, small businesses and families.

“I’m standing with KeyBank in supporting families, small businesses and nonprofits,” Yeh said. “I’m excited to be part of this unique and fun way to make a difference in our communities by spreading some good during the holiday season.”

Launched in April 2020, #KeyBankAssists has already provided more than $1 million to support communities across KeyBank’s national footprint. This includes support to 225 small businesses and 115 community organizations and nonprofits.
