Sabres to host fans at 4 games in April

The Buffalo Sabres on Friday announced the team will host fans at KeyBank Center four more times during the 2020-21 season. Based on updated guidance from New York state, fans will have additional options for entering KeyBank Center, making it easier to attend the remaining games this season. Each fan who attends a game will need to provide proof of vaccination or a negative coronavirus antigen or molecular (RT-PCR/TMA) COVID-19 test result.

Fans who are fully vaccinated can show their vaccination card when entering KeyBank Center. To attend a game, fans will need to have received their second dose of the Pfizer-BioNtech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine or single dose of the Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the date of the game.

Fans who need to test to enter the game will need to show proof of a negative antigen COVID-19 test taken within six hours of puck drop, or proof of negative molecular (RT-PCR/TMA) COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the game.

To help fans, the Sabres will collaborate with Quest Diagnostics to facilitate cost-efficient testing through QuestDirect, the company’s consumer-initiated testing service. Quest offers antigen tests for $30 with test results within 30 minutes. Quest will also continue to offer molecular (RT-PCR/TMA) COVID tests for $64 to fans who purchase tickets.

Fans can schedule their antigen or molecular (RT-PCR/TMA) COVID test with Quest Diagnostics at multiple locations throughout Western New York. For more information or to schedule a test, visit http://patient.questdiagnostics.com/buffalo-sabres. All scheduling and payments for testing will be done directly through Quest Diagnostics.

The cost of the testing purchased through this website is solely at the ticketholder’s financial responsibility. QuestDirect is unable to provide a receipt that contains the basic information generally required by health plans for reimbursement.

The Sabres have also teamed up with CLEAR to use its Health Pass technology for COVID-19 screening of fans. A press release stated, “Health Pass is a free, mobile experience by CLEAR, which securely connects a person's verified identity to multiple layers of COVID-19-related insights to reduce public health risk and get people back to what they know and love.”

Fans will need to download the CLEAR app and verify their identity and will then be able to securely link their COVID-19 test results to the app. The day of the game, fans will open Health Pass on their CLEAR app, verify their identity with a selfie, and answer a health questionnaire on the app. Users who have a negative test result and pass the health questionnaire will receive a green notification on the app, which they will show as they enter KeyBank Center for the game.

A limited number of tickets for all four games will go on sale at 2 p.m. Monday, March 29. Season ticketholders will have an exclusive window to purchase tickets starting at 10 a.m. and will automatically receive a discount on the box office price when they purchase a ticket through their account. The dates, times and opponents for the four games are below.

•Saturday, April 3, vs. the New York Rangers at 7 p.m.
