On Friday, sixstepsrecords/Capitol CMG's Passion presented their first Christmas album, “Hope Has a Name,” on all digital platforms. This special holiday offering was recorded in studio at Passion City Church in Atlanta. “Hope Has a Name” features Passion worship leaders Kristian Stanfill, Brett Younker and Melodie Malone, along with friends Crowder and Chidima.

"We have wanted to create a Christmas album for many years, but just haven't been able to find the time as normally we are in full planning mode for Passion Conference," Stanfill said. "With so many things being canceled and changed this year with the onset of COVID-19, one of the few blessings has been time. We had more time to dream, write and create what it would look like to make a Christmas record. The heart of this whole project is an invitation to come and find everything you need in Jesus. ‘Come if you're broken / Come if you're searching / If you need healing / He's where you find it.’ (Lyrics from “Hope Has a Name.”)

"Although it is a daunting task to make new Christmas music, we wanted to write songs that help tell the Gospel story of God with us – stepping into our lives to rescue us – songs that explode in worship in wonder and awe," Younker said.

With this year bringing so many uncertainties across the globe, Passion felt this was the perfect time to create a special project to help listeners express their love and devotion to God during the holiday season.

Passion teamed up with others in the worship community for co-writing and production, including Jacob Sooter, Matt Maher, Jeff Pardo, Sean Curran, Stefan Cashwell, Kirby Kaple of Housefires and Aodhan King and Ben Fielding of Hillsong Worship. “Hope Has a Name” features five original songs and two classics, including the reimagined "O Come All Ye Faithful (His Name Shall Be)" with a new bridge.

"As the title track states, hope has a name and we know that name is Jesus," Malone said. "I know for myself, I am so looking forward to this holiday season, especially as we are all searching for something to look forward to – something to hold onto – and that is an invitation from God for us to see this gift of Jesus."

A movement founded by Louie and Shelley Giglio in 1995, Passion has been rooted in the truth of Isaiah 26:8 – “Yes Lord, walking in the way of Your truth we wait eagerly for You, for Your name and Your renown are the desire of our hearts” – existing to glorify God by uniting students in worship, prayer and justice for spiritual awakening in this generation.

Passion has ushered in the writing, recording and leading of some of the most recognizable and unforgettable worship anthems of this generation. It is currently helmed by Stanfill, Younker and Malone. Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Crowder, Christy Nockels and more have also lent their voices alongside Passion throughout the years.

With more than 2 million units sold and a multitude of chart-topping singles such as “Glorious Day,” “Build My Life,” “God, You’re So Good,” “How Great Is Our God,” “God Of This City,” “One Thing Remains,” “Even So Come,” and “10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord),” listeners across the world continue to be impacted by the music of Passion.

Earlier this year, Passion released a highly anticipated new album, “Roar (Live From Passion 2020),” which was recorded last Dec. 31, Jan. 1-2 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The Passion team ushered in the new decade with more than 65,000 in attendance from across the country and the globe, bringing together the largest crowd in Passion’s event history for the annual conference.
