Waitlist now open for early access to first online platform that combines maintenance tracking, optimization & purchasing

Buffalo-based startup has raised more than $500,000 in investment, including funding from Launch NY

HELIXintel is making equipment maintenance management easier than ever for small- and medium-sized businesses – for free.

The Buffalo-based startup said it has created a simple-to-use online platform that empowers businesses to stay on top of the manufacturer-recommended service for equipment. According to a federal study, this leads to decreased maintenance costs, less equipment downtime, fewer unexpected breakdowns, reduced energy consumption and longer equipment lifespans.

HELIXintel said its free, cloud-based, mobile-friendly platform is the first of its kind to automatically match equipment with optimized maintenance plans and then seamlessly connect users to manufacturer-authorized providers to purchase service and parts.

Businesses can visit www.helixintel.com to join the waitlist for early access to the HELIXintel platform. Service providers that are interested in offering maintenance service or parts on the HELIXintel platform should email [email protected] for more information.

HELIXintel was founded by a team with deep expertise in equipment maintenance, software development, finance and building startups:

√ CEO Jon DeWald has more than a dozen years of experience in the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) aftercare services industry;

√ CFO Eliot Powell has 35 years of investment management and banking experience and co-founded JP Morgan’s private equity fund-of-funds program;

√ VP of Business Development Rob Franssen has been a top 10 aftercare sales leader in the U.S. for large HVAC and compressed air OEMs;

√ VP of Strategy Peter Burakowski launched and led strategy and marketing for the 43North startup accelerator program; and

√ The company’s president is a software and Big Data expert who will be publicly announced soon

“Whether you’re operating an office building, a restaurant, a retail stop or a manufacturing facility, HELIXintel is about to make your job a lot easier,” DeWald said. “Our free, simple-to-use platform will help you save time, energy and money on maintenance, while keeping your equipment – and your business – running smoothly.”

HELIXintel has raised more than $500,000 in capital to fuel its growth, including investment from Launch NY. It is also part of Launch NY’s ECO (emerging cleantech opportunity) incubator program, which is supported by NYSERDA.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to support and fund a company like HELIXintel, which really is in our sweet spot with an innovative product ready to take off,” said Launch NY President and CEO Marnie LaVigne. “With decades of experience in the aftercare space, the HELIXintel team thoroughly understands the maintenance management challenges that small and mid-sized businesses face. We’re excited about how they've applied these learnings to build HELIXintel’s free platform, which makes it simpler than ever for equipment operators to stay on top of their maintenance needs.”

“HELIXintel will help businesses in our region and beyond follow the manufacturer-recommended maintenance on their equipment. The research on the positive environmental impacts of this is clear: Your equipment will last longer and you’ll use less energy. We are proud to have HELIXintel in Launch NY's ECO incubator program and we look forward to continuing to assist in their growth,” said ECO Incubator Program Director Paul Tyno.
