Multi-award-winning singer/songwriter Matthew West has released his latest studio project, “Brand New.” The album is his first on Provident Label Group/Sony Music and his imprint Story House Music.

“Brand New” is available here.

The debut radio single, "The God Who Stays," is already a No. 1 hit on the AC Indicator chart and continues to climb the National Christian Audience chart, where it landed at No. 3 this week.

This song was the first of six West shared over the past few months from the 14-track project. The official music video has also impacted his audience, already hitting more than 5.4 million views.

A press release said, “Even a Dove-award winning, Grammy-nominated Christian artist can feel distanced from that moment they become ‘brand-new' in Christ, which is largely what inspired West’s new album, where he addresses the question every believer asks at some point on his or her Christian journey: ‘When I feel far away from my brand-new moment, can I go back to it?’ ”

It continued, “Many of the tracks on ‘Brand New’ strike a balance between addressing the pain and reality of life while offering hope. They bring a message that West has been writing since the beginning of his career. West also strikes a balance between personal songs based on his faith experience and songs written in response to others’ stories.”

“I almost feel like a new artist, but with the experience of a veteran,” West said. “I think that could be a recipe for being in a sweet spot in any field – to have the fire of the new and the experience. … I like to think that I’m getting closer and closer to the most authentic version of me as a communicator and me as a songwriter, but hopefully most of all, me as a person.”

West has celebrated his release by taping special performances and interviews over the past few weeks. The special on Sirius XM, “The Message – Delivered Live: Matthew West,” aired last weekend. Other media that have touted this release include Billboard MagazineGuideposts, CCM Magazine, New Release Today and the “Annie Downs That Sounds Fun” podcast.

He will head out on tour this spring with labelmates Casting Crowns on the "Only Jesus" Tour beginning on March 5. Click here for current tour dates. West also will return to the Grand Ole Opry on Feb. 21 for a performance.

West is a five-time Grammy nominee, a multiple ASCAP Christian Music Songwriter/Artist of the Year winner and the 2018 Dove Award Songwriter of the Year (Artist) recipient. He has received an American Music Award, a Billboard Music Award, a K-LOVE Fan Award and was named Billboard’s Hot Christian Songwriter of the Year. A recipient of the Rich Mullins Impact Award, West also received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Original Music & Lyrics for the title track for the feature film “The Heart of Christmas.” He has been awarded a RIAA Gold certification for his single “Hello, My Name Is” and RIAA Platinum certification for the song “The Motions."

In addition to his own recording career, West has co-hosted the K-LOVE Fan Awards five times and has more than 130 songwriting credits to his name, including cuts by Rascal Flatts, Scotty McCreery, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Mandisa and Danny Gokey, along with back-to-back No. 1 songs by Casting Crowns (including recent single, "Nobody," which also features West). He was nominated for a Grammy in 2019 as a songwriter for Casting Crowns’ "Only Jesus.”

Adding author to his list of accolades, West has written five books to date: “Give This Christmas Away,” “The Story Of Your Life,” “Forgiveness,” “Today Is Day One” and his latest, “Hello, My Name Is.”

He is also passionate about providing hope and healing through the power of prayer and story. Along with his father, Pastor Joe West, they founded popwe, a nonprofit ministry helping others to craft, share, and live a more meaningful life. Visit popwe.org for more information.
