Recently, the local Dairy Queens in the area attempted to raise $50,000 all together to sponsor a neonatal room at the John R. Oishei Childrens Hospital.
Participating locations were accepting round up donations, $1 or $3 (or whatever amount) donations.
Then, on July 25, participating locations raised money for Miracle Treat Day. Locations donate at least $1 or more from every blizzard sale, but at the DQ location in the Town of Niagara, 2301 Military Road, owner Mona Schmelzle donated 100% of the blizzard sales.
On Miracle Treat Day alone at the location, Schmelzle and the DQ staff raised over $2,000. Between June, July and Miracle Treat Day, the Town of Niagara location raised over $8,000.
