Artpark: Chris Isaak show now indoors

Tue, Jul 30th 2019 10:35 am

With tonight’s forecast spotty and calling for thunderstorms, Artpark & Company is moving its “Tuesdays in the Park” concert inside – into the Mainstage Theater.

Ticketholders will be relocated based on what they purchased for the outdoor amphitheater.

Award-winning singer-songwriter Chris Isaak is the headliner, with special guest Marc Broussard opening.

In a statement, Artpark & Company wrote, “This concert has been relocated from the Artpark amphitheater to Artpark’s indoor seated Mainstage Theater due to anticipated heavy rains and thunderstorms throughout the day and evening.

“Front-of-stage, reserved, and VIP/sponsor deck level ticketholders will be guaranteed seating. General admission ticketholders will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis. While every effort will be made to accommodate all ticketholders inside the theater, there is a slight possibility that some ticketholders will be located on the Mainstage lawn area due to capacity. Bringing rain jackets / ponchos / small umbrellas is suggested if weather conditions dictate.

“We regret any inconvenience this may cause. This relocation ensures that the concert will go on as scheduled, and offers a more comfortable and safe experience for ticketholders, performers, and crew. Thank you for your consideration.”

In the course of Isaak's career, he has released nine albums, 12 singles, been nominated for two Grammys, acted in several motion pictures and starred in his own critically acclaimed TV series. His legendary shows with his longtime band, Silvertone, have entertained thousands of people for over two decades. Even his hair has its own fan club.

Isaak possesses different musical personas. He can be a rockabilly rebel ("Dancin'," "Baby Did A Bad, Bad Thing"); a brokenhearted crooner ("Wicked Game," "Somebody's Crying"); and a breezy acoustic storyteller ("San Francisco Days," "Two Hearts").

Singer-songwriter Broussard’s style has been described as “Bayou Soul” – a mix of classic R&B, rock and soul.
