Rain & wet grounds put a damper on opening night at Ransomville Speedway

Ransomville Speedway officials cancel Friday’s opening night event after early-morning rains soaked the already-saturated speedway grounds.

Ransomville will attempt to get its 62nd season of racing going next Friday, May 10, with “First Responders' Night presented by Live Edge Brewery.” All first responders will receive free general admission with valid ID. All moms in attendance will also get a special Mother's Day gift.

The opening round of the Can-Am Thunder Stock Challenge will be made up on May 10. The Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds, Investors Service Sportsman, Gippster's Collision Mini Stock and Stevenson's Hardware Novice Sportsman will also get their 2019 seasons under way. The Mini Stocks will take part in the opening round of the Mini Stock Super Series in conjunction with Genesee Speedway. Racing starts at 7:15 p.m.
