Proceeds to support programs of The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation, Stone's Buddies
This week, The Eric Wood Fund, a not-for-profit organization founded by Buffalo Bills center Eric Wood, raised new funds to support programming of The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation and Stone's Buddies. Proceeds were raised at the organization's annual "Flights and Bites" fundraiser.
The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation operated exclusively for charitable purposes for the John R. Oishei Children's Hospital of Buffalo. Stone's Buddies is a not-for-profit at the hospital dedicated to providing support, resources and assistance to chronically ill pediatric patients and their families.
"This was a truly special evening for our organization, but more importantly for every child we support that faces chronic illness, special needs and physical challenges," Wood said. "The holiday season is a time for generosity and goodwill. Every year, this community rallies together to help those who need it most. Together, we once again showed how the power of teamwork can lift up spirits and change lives."
"Flights and Bites" featured a festive "Monday Night Football" experience of food, drink, music and mingling for a cause - featuring Wood and Buffalo Bills players including Lorenzo Alexander, Josh Allen, Kyle Williams and Stephen Hauschka. The event also featured a secret stocking raffle and a range of vintage sports memorabilia for sale.
"Our fund's connection with the Children's Hospital Foundation and Stone's Buddies continues to have meaningful impact," Wood said. "Together, we can provide even more experiences, support and opportunities to for our community's younger generations."
