The boys and girls soccer teams at Niagara-Wheatfield just recently finished up their regular season schedules.
The boys finished 13-1 overall (11-1 Niagara Frontier League) and the girls finished 11-3-1 overall (9-2-1 NFL). The teams success has clinched them spots in the Niagara Frontier League crossover matches.
As Niagara division champs, the boys will play Kenmore East, who finished 9-2 in league play. The last time the two teams played, the Falcons defeated the Bulldogs, 3-1, behind two goals from Jacob Vallas. Alexis Leon also netted a goal in the victory. A win in the crossover championship would clinch the team's second NFL title in program history and first since 2014.
The boys recently finished its regular season schedule with a 2-0 victory over Niagara Falls. In the win, Andrew Ramballi and Max Schroeder scored, while Leon assisted both goals.
The Bulldogs will have home field advantage in the championship, as the game is at 5 p.m. today at Sparky Adams Field.
The girls, who also clinched the Niagara division, will get a chance to face league rival Grand Island.
The Vikings have been a thorn in the side of the Falcons for some years. Dating back to last season, the Falcons are 0-3 against the soccer powerhouse and have lost by a combined score of 7-1.
The matchup is also a rematch of last year's NFL crossover title game, where the Vikings won, 2-0.
The girls have been led by Erin Weir and Briana Zayatz, who have 16 and 11 goals, respectively, which is over 50 percent of the team's goals.
The Falcons will look for revenge, as well as their first NFL title since 1988, at 7 p.m. today at Sparky Adams Field.
