Series of events will teach students with no prior knowledge essentials of video game development
Buffalo Game Space has announced its third annual Fall Game Workshop Series. BGS is offering a number of students the opportunity to attend this series of workshops covering everything one needs to learn to create their own video game, free of charge, as well as offering coworking and equipment access.
From Sept. 19 to Dec. 5, BGS will offer workshops covering every element of game creation and development, from the basics of game design to the essentials of programming, creating art and music, storytelling and more. The workshop series will conclude in a game jam the weekend of Dec. 8, where attendees will work in teams to create a game in 48 hours using the lessons learned from the workshops.
"We're very excited to once again provide this great opportunity for anyone interested in making their own games, but might not have the means to do so on their own," BGS President John Futsche said. "We believe that this active and growing industry needs as many diverse voices as possible to bring their fresh perspectives to the field, and offering a workshop series that helps break down any barriers facing those voices is a step in the right direction."
