Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino on Tuesday announced two performances for the Seneca Niagara Events Center: Trevor Noah on Saturday, Oct. 6 (8 p.m.) and Paul Anka - "Anka Sings Sinatra: His Songs, My Songs, My Way!" on Saturday, Oct. 27 (8 p.m.). Tickets go on sale at noon on Friday.
Noah is a popular stand-up comedian and the host of the Emmy- and Peabody Award-winning "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central. He rose to prominence in his native South Africa and has performed sold-out shows for audiences across five continents. In 2012, he became the first South African stand-up comedian to appear on "The Tonight Show" and, later, on "Late Show with David Letterman." Known for his political commentary, Noah has released comedy specials while his first book, "Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood," was a New York Times bestseller. As a comedian, television personality and author, Noah has been nominated for numerous awards, and in 2018 he was recognized by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Anka is celebrating his 60th year in show business with his "Anka Sings Sinatra: His Songs, My Songs, My Way!" Tour. An accomplished singer and songwriter, Anka famously wrote the lyrics to what would become Sinatra's signature song, the classic "My Way." He also wrote such famous pieces as the theme for "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" and the smash Tom Jones hit "She's a Lady." The evening will also feature many of the hits that helped make Anka a star in the 1950s, '60s and '70s, including "Diana," "Lonely Boy," "Put Your Head on My Shoulder" and "(You're) Having My Baby." Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino will have plenty of talent and laughs in store when Howie Mandel performs inside the Seneca Allegany Events Center on Saturday, Oct. 20 (7 p.m.). Tickets go on sale at noon on Friday.
Mandel has been entertaining audiences with his stand-up routine since first taking the stage at the legendary Yuk Yuk's club in Toronto in the late 1970s. His improvised antics, every day observations and self-deprecating style have continuously made his stand-up show one to see. In addition to his comedy, Mandel has become a household name through a series of successful television appearances, including a regular role on "St. Elsewhere," the creator of the Emmy-nominated animated series "Bobby's World," the host of "Deal or No Deal," and as the longest-serving judge on "America's Got Talent."
