For the first time, ABC presents "Countdown to the Oscars, Live!" an unprecedented three-hour special, live from the red carpet. This ultimate guide to Hollywood's biggest night prepares viewers for the highly anticipated 90th Oscars, revisits unforgettable moments from Oscars past, and features a first look inside the new Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences museum.
"Good Morning America" weekend anchor and "The View" co-host Paula Faris and ABC News correspondent Chris Connelly host this new special, live from the red carpet. "Countdown to the Oscars, Live!" airs Sunday, March 4 (1-4 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network.
Sunday's broadcast features EGOT winner, member of the Board of Governors and four-time host of the Oscars Whoopi Goldberg's exclusive interview with chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company and museum campaign chair Robert A. Iger discussing the new Academy Museum and the 90th Oscars. Goldberg also brings viewers a first look inside the new museum and visits the Academy Film Archive, which is full of treasured Hollywood memorabilia.
Faris and Connelly will be joined by special contributors: editorial director of People and Entertainment Weekly Jess Cagle, The Hollywood Reporter TV editor Marisa Guthrie, actor and writer Robert Wuhl, TV and radio personality Rolonda Watts, fashion expert Joe Zee and stylist to stars Sophie Lopez.
In addition, "Oscars Opening Ceremony: Live From The Red Carpet," the only official Oscars opening ceremony coverage with exclusive access to the red carpet in the final hour leading up to the awards show, airs at 6:30 p.m. on ABC. This 90-minute special is hosted by "Good Morning America" co-anchor Michael Strahan, star of ABC's "The Goldbergs" Wendi McLendon-Covey, "The View" co-host Sara Haines, Vanity Fair executive West Coast editor Krista Smith and IMDb special correspondent Dave Karger.
The 90th Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, and will be broadcast live on ABC at 8 p.m. "The Oscars," produced by Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will also be televised in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
