Only official Oscars opening ceremony coverage with exclusive access to red carpet in final hour leading up to award show

The ABC Television Network and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced "Oscars Opening Ceremony: Live From The Red Carpet," the ultimate red carpet event and highly anticipated lead-in to the live telecast of the 90th Oscars hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on Sunday, March 4. This 90-minute special, hosted by "Good Morning America" co-anchor Michael Strahan, star of ABC's "The Goldbergs" Wendi McLendon-Covey, "The View" co-host Sara Haines, Vanity Fair executive West Coast editor Krista Smith and IMDb special correspondent Dave Karger, begins at 6:30 p.m. EST on The ABC Television Network.
This is the only official red carpet event. Additionally, from 7-8 p.m., ABC is the only telecast broadcasting live exclusively from the red carpet.
The special features interviews with the nominees, presenters and performers arriving on the red carpet and gives viewers an ultimate insider's view of all the pre-show excitement.
"Oscars Opening Ceremony: Live From The Red Carpet," is produced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and ABC News Live Events Group.

Executive Producer John R. Green said, "We challenged ourselves to make this, our fourth consecutive year producing the official Oscars pre-show, the most exciting one yet. From a new, circular stage literally in the middle of the red carpet, additional camera angles never seen before and a few surprises planned, we want viewers to feel like they're right in the middle of the action."
The 90th Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, and will be broadcast live on The ABC Television Network at 8 p.m. "The Oscars" will also be televised in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
