Proceeds to support programs of Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation and Stone's Buddies
On Monday night, The Eric Wood Fund, a not-for-profit organization founded by Buffalo Bills center Eric Wood, raised $57,500 to support programming of
The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation and
Stone's Buddies. Proceeds were raised at the organization's annual Flights and Bites fundraiser and silent auction.
The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation operated exclusively for charitable purposes for the John R. Oishei Children's Hospital of Buffalo. Stone's Buddies is a not-for-profit at the hospital dedicated to providing support, resources and assistance to chronically ill pediatric patients and their families.
"We are grateful to everyone who participated, and for their role in helping to support our community's children who face chronic illness, special needs and physical challenges," Wood said. "Year after year, our city demonstrates its generosity and selflessness. This special evening's results prove the power of teamwork."
Flights and Bites featured a unique "Monday Night Football" experience of food, drink, music and mingling for a cause - featuring Wood and several Bills teammates, including Tyrod Taylor and Richie Incognito.
"Our fund's new connection with the foundation and Stone's Buddies opens new doors for making a positive impact on children's lives," Wood said. "Together, we can provide even more experiences, support and opportunities to children that need them most."
Founded in 2014, The Eric Wood Fund provides chronically ill, special needs and physically challenged children throughout Greater Buffalo with daily encouragement and life-changing experiences.
