On Wednesday afternoon, representatives from New York state came to DeGraff Memorial Hospital to break ground on a nearly $8 million project, which calls for 17 treatment bays, including a trauma room, dedicated bariatric room and an airborne isolation room. The plan for the project is to relocate the emergency department from the west side to the east side of the hospital, facing the Twin City Highway. The renovation will also increase the space of the area from 4,800 square feet to 10,000 feet.
DeGraff President Darcy Craven said, "The new, state-of-the-art emergency department is a critical part of the future success of DeGraff Memorial Hospital and demonstrates that the hospital is here to stay."
