Tickets now available for film shot partially in Buffalo featuring local landmarks and residents
WNED | WBFO and the Buffalo International Film Festival will present the Buffalo premiere of the film "Marshall" on Saturday at the North Park Theatre, 1428 Hertel Ave., Buffalo.
Shot primarily in Buffalo, this adaptation of an event in the early career of Thurgood Marshall features many familiar landmarks of Western New York. Guests can see how the filmmakers transformed Buffalo's City Hall, the Central Terminal, Statler City, the Niagara Falls Library, Akron Falls County Park, the Orchard Park train depot and the former Michael J. Dillon Federal Courthouse into Connecticut in the 1940s.
The Oct. 7 at the North Park Theatre will include a red carpet premiere screening. The evening will feature an area for photos, and a panel discussion with behind-the-scenes tidbits from producers Chris Bongirne and Jonathan Sanger.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the screening beings at 8 p.m. Panel discussion and Q&A occur immediately after the screening.
In "Marshall," a young Thurgood Marshall battles through a career-defining case, years before becoming the first African American Supreme Court justice. The film features an all-star cast, including Chadwick Boseman as Thurgood Marshall, Josh Gad, Kate Hudson, Dan Stevens, Sterling K. Brown, James Cromwell, Keesha Sharp, Jussie Smollett, Rozonda Thomas and Sophia Bush.
Tickets are $15 general admission for the movie screening. They can be obtained online at www.wned.org or via phone at 1-800-678-1873.
