May sweeps is maaahvelous on 'The Chew'

Michael Symon's in the hot seat during his wild 'Mystery Monday' Adventure, and just in time for Mother's Day, 'The Chew' is throwing the best baby shower ever

It's #requestarecipe week, and every day "The Chew" delivers the delicious goods fans asked for, one scrumptious dish at a time! In addition, co-hosts Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly and Daphne Oz welcome celebrities from TV, books and movies to the show the week of May 8-12 (1 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network.

Monday, May 8 - "Viewer Chew & A: Spring Edition" - Diane Lane ("Paris Can Wait") joins Mario in the kitchen to make a spring chicken stew inspired by the French countryside setting of her new movie, and Michael goes on a "Mystery Monday" adventure that's hot, hot, hot! Can he handle the pressure? Clinton shows viewers how to make a salmon burger with dill and cucumber, teaming up with "The Chew's" in-house culinary stylist, Jackie Rothong.

Tuesday, May 9 - "Favorite Food Memories" - Wanda Sykes ("Snatched") teams up with Clinton to make one of her favorite dishes; Carla and Mario make a mega mashup of their favorite flavors, with a fried green tomato and pimento cheese pizza; Michael meets the 88-year-old pierogi queen who inspired her granddaughter's restaurant in Brooklyn, Baba's Pierogis!

Wednesday, May 10 - "Weeknight Wows" - Kevin Bacon teams up with Mario to make a dish that dazzles, and Darby Stanchfield ("Scandal") learns how to make another weeknight wow with Carla.

Thursday, May 11 - "Cookout Across America" - Two celebrities make their "Chew" debuts! James Pickens Jr. ("Grey's Anatomy") makes a recipe with Carla, and Cynthia Nixon talks about her new Broadway show, "The Little Foxes."

Friday, May 12 - "The Chew's Best Baby Shower Ever"- Oh, baby! What better way to celebrate Mother's Day than before a studio audience full of moms-to-be? There will be giveaways galore, delicious solutions to cravings, a tasty brunch dish by Michael, and advice from mom Daphne to round out the hour. And, it's Carla's birthday!
