Wound Center of Niagara named Center of Excellence

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has announced The Wound Center of Niagara is a recipient of RestorixHealth's Center of Excellence award.

RestorixHealth's highest achievement, the Center of Excellence Award distinguishes centers that have demonstrated exceptional success by meeting or exceeding clinical, operational and financial benchmarks in different categories, including healing outcomes and safety, along with a patient satisfaction rate of 95 percent or higher. The Wound Center of Niagara is one of the four centers to achieve this designation.

"This accreditation reaffirms the quality of care that the Wound Center of Niagara provides its patients every day," said Medical Director Michael Mitchell, M.D. "We are proud to be a recipient of an award that recognizes the hard work and dedication of our staff."

Memorial Medical Center's wound center is dedicated to optimizing outcomes and preventing lower limb loss in those patients with chronic, nonhealing wounds. The approach to wound care is aggressive and comprehensive, coordinating traditional and advanced therapies and techniques that are proven to reduce healing time and improve healing rates.

The center is staffed with a multidisciplinary team of physicians along with nurses and technicians with advanced training in wound care and hyperbaric medicine. Integrating a team of wound care professionals optimizes patient care while offering the most advanced healing options.
