NBCSN to show 16 hours of programming on most of its 18 days of Olympic coverage

NBC Sports Network will present 330 hours of programming for the Games of XXXI Olympiad from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this August, more than any other linear network, NBC Olympics announced.

Programming on NBCSN will span 20-plus sports - also more than any other network - including extensive coverage of men's and women's basketball, and men's and women's soccer. Medals will be won every day on NBCSN from Saturday, Aug. 6, through Sunday, Aug. 21. In addition to basketball and soccer, coverage will include track and field, archery, boxing, cycling, fencing, field hockey, judo, open water swimming, rugby, shooting, synchronized swimming, table tennis, weightlifting and wrestling.

The network's 18 days of coverage begins Wednesday, Aug. 3, two days before the opening ceremony, with women's soccer, and concludes on Sunday, Aug. 21, the final day of the Games. On most days, NBCSN will televise 16 hours of coverage, from 8 a.m. to midnight ET.

"NBCSN is the place to watch the hugely popular U.S. women's soccer team, the newest edition of the 'Dream Team,' and the remarkable U.S. women's basketball team, which is going for a sixth straight gold," said Jim Bell, executive producer, NBC Olympics. "It is the perfect complement to our NBC broadcasts, allowing us to present long-form coverage of many of the Games' most popular sports and athletes."
