Alisan Porter named champion of 'The Voice'

Popular member of Team Christina excelled in competition and earned America's top vote 

Alisan Porter was crowned champion of NBC's Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" Tuesday, earning the grand prize of a recording contract and being named as "The Voice" for season 10.

Porter, from Team Christina, competed for viewers' votes in the finals against runners-up Adam Wakefield from Team Blake, Laith Al-Saadi from Team Adam, and Hannah Huston from Team Pharrell. She is Aguilera's first season champion. Follow Porter on Twitter at @alisanporter.

This season, regular Monday and Tuesday editions of "The Voice" have averaged a 3.6 rating in adults 18-49 and 13.8 million viewers overall, according to "live plus seven day" averages from Nielsen Media Research. "The Voice" ranks No. 1 this season among alternative series in adults 18-49 and continues to lead NBC to regular nightlong wins on both Monday and Tuesday nights.

"The Voice" is a presentation of MGM Television, Talpa Media USA Inc. and Warner Horizon Television. The series was created by John de Mol, who serves as executive producer along with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Jay Bienstock, Lee Metzger and Chad Hines.
