The Lewiston Council on the Arts introduces a new event, "Twist and Shout" - a daylong celebration of the Beatles - will take place from 4-10 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at The Lewiston Stone House, 755 Center St. Tickets are $5.
The event will begin with performances from Lewiston Music and Amy Teal's Music Studio students. Then, Mark Porter's Pastmasters and the "Summer of '69" Lewiston All Stars will share the stage. Toward the latter part of the day, audience members can partake in Fab Four karaoke.
Attendees are asked to donate unused musical instruments to Instruments for Peace, a group that provides instruments to students who can't afford them. Instruments for Peace was established in memory of Ryan Henderson.
Lewiston Music owner Tony Petrocelli will refurbish the equipment and send it to Lewiston-Porter.
Raffle tickets for an acoustic guitar, donated by Lewiston Music and Victor Garcia, will be sold and the winner drawn that evening.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the LCA and Instruments for Peace.
