As Hollywood races to win faith audiences, bellwether group gives 'Risen' high marks for compatibility, while founder Chris Stone praises the film as 'delivering on the promise of authenticity'

Coming to theaters nationwide Friday, Feb. 20, Sony Affirm's latest film, "Risen," receives a strong 4.5 out of 5 stars from Faith Driven Consumer, meaning the film is highly likely to resonate with the faith-driven consumer audience. "Risen" tells the story of a Roman military tribune Clavius who witnesses Christ's crucifixion, is charged with investigating His resurrection, and cannot escape the facts as he encounters them.

Chris Stone, founder of Faith Driven Consumer and a certified brand strategist, said, "Hollywood has rolled out a number of Biblically themed offerings in recent years, with some hits and misses. In our regular engagement with studio executives, we encourage them to remember that success at the box office stems from authenticity - being true to both the Biblical story and message. That is exactly what faith audiences want.

"Sony's 'Risen,' fast-paced, unexpected and fascinating, above all delivers on the promise of authenticity. While it is not directly Biblical, it is contextually accurate, and offers a real-world journey through Christ's crucifixion to His ascension. It reminds us all that the most unlikely person can be drawn to and forever changed by Jesus.

" 'Risen' is, at long last, the movie we've all been waiting for."
