NU Theatre presents annual Short Play Festival

What's there to do after the holiday season ends? From Jan. 22-24, NU Theatre's annual Short Play Festival makes for a fascinating dose of theater - and a great entertainment bargain. Two cycles of 10-minute plays written by various playwrights will be presented over one weekend. Comedies, dramas and everything in between, NU's debut of student directors produces a smorgasbord of professionally published plays.

The Short Play Festival will be on stage in the Leary Theatre within the Elizabeth Ann Clune Center for Theatre, Clet Hall, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, (Cycle A); at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, (Cycle A); at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23 (Cycle B); and 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24 (Cycle B).

Producing director of the Short Play Festival is Doug Zschiegner, associate professor and associate director of Niagara University Theatre. Production manager is theater studies design/technology alumnus Jayson Clark.

Student directors of the productions include: Marissa Allen, Alana Arman, Heather Casseri, Jemere Daniels, Ciara Davie, Matt Dell'olio, Shelby Ehrenreich, Sabrina Kahwaty, Clarissa Maloy, Mary Martin, Colleen Pine, Peter Raimondo, Steven Duncan Sass, Christina Scott, Vanessa Shevat, Michael J. Thompson, and Dylan Zalikowski. The students hail from New York to California.
