Black Willow Wines celebrates 5th anniversary with additional medals

Black Willow Winery was recently honored with a number of medals from the Jefferson Cup Invitational Wine Competition, Grand Harvest Awards and the American Wine Society Commercial Wine Competition, while gearing up to celebrate the winery's fifth anniversary.

The Jefferson Cup Finals, held in Kansas City, Missouri, each November, resulted in Depeche Meow's prestigious Medal of American Excellence (gold). An additional five Metals of American Merit (silver) were awarded to Black Willow's entries: Trilogy Red, Black Widow Berry, Bare Cat Blush, Trilogy White and chardonnay.

The American Wine Society Commercial Wine Competition, held Nov. 3-5 in Tysons Corner, Virginia, also resulted in a hefty metal count for Black Willow Winery. Classic Diamond was awarded the prestigious Double Gold, while Depeche Meow received a gold. Silver medals were bestowed upon Cabernet Franc, Freyja's Passion Mead, Bare Cat Blush, Black Willow Berry, Trilogy White and Odin's Nectar. Bronze medals were also granted to Valkyrie's Lure Mead and chardonnay.

Vineyard & Winery Management sponsored the 2015 Grand Harvest Awards. Wines were judged from a field of nearly 1500 entries. Among the awards Black Willow Winery received were silver for Bare Cat Blush and Trilogy White and bronze for Cabernet Franc.

Black Willow Winery's Classic Diamond is featured in film "Still Alice."

Additionally, its gift shop now supports local artisans while featuring a full line of artisan oils and vinegars.
