Busy week for Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills made two splashy roster moves official Tuesday.

The team officially acquired running back LeSean McCoy from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso.

The Bills signed McCoy to a contract extension. In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

McCoy comes to Buffalo after spending the first six seasons of his career in Philadelphia, racking up 6,792 yards and 44 touchdowns on the ground while adding 2,282 yards and 10 scores via the air. McCoy has broken the 1,000-yard mark rushing in four of his six seasons as an Eagle - earning pro honors three times (2011, 2013, 2014) and first team All-Pro honors in 2011 and 2013. 

The 5-11, 208-pound Pittsburgh product entered the NFL in 2009 as a second-round pick (53^rd overall) of the Eagles. 

The Bills officially acquired quarterback Matt Cassel and an undisclosed draft choice from the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for undisclosed draft choices.

Cassel comes to Buffalo after spending the past two seasons in Minnesota, playing in 12 games for the Vikings and completing 194 of 325 pass attempts for 2,232 yards, 14 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. The 10-year veteran has played in 90 games in his career, starting 71, while completing 1,397 of 2,369 pass attempts for 15,727 yards, 96 touchdowns and 70 interceptions.

The 6-4, 228-pound USC product entered the NFL in 2005 as a seventh-round pick of the New England Patriots. Cassel spent four years with the Patriots before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2009. Cassel was in Kansas City until he joined the Vikings in 2013. 

On Wednesday, the Bills released tight end Scott Chandler.

Chandler played in 65 games for the Bills, starting 35, while accumulating 182 catches for 2,120 yards and 17 touchdowns. The 6-7, 260-pound Iowa product ranks third in team history amongst tight ends in both receptions and touchdowns. 

The Bills also signed free agent fullback Jerome Felton. In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A seven-year NFL veteran, Felton has played in 101 career games while rushing for 163 yards on 46 attempts and adding 352 yards on 43 catches. Felton, who comes to Buffalo after spending the past three seasons in Minnesota, earned Pro Bowl honors in 2012 as he helped pave the way for Vikings running back Adrian Peterson's MVP season and 2,097 rushing yards. In addition to spending time with the Vikings, Felton has played for the Indianapolis Colts, Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions.

The 6-0, 248-pound Furman University product originally entered the league in 2008 as a fifth-round pick (146^th overall) of the Lions. Felton, 28, is a native of Duren, West Germany.

The following day, the team re-signed wideout Marcus Easley. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Easley has been a special teams mainstay for the Bills over the past two seasons, racking up 34 special teams tackles - the second most in the NFL since 2013. Easley has seen time in 29 career games for the Bills.

The 6-2, 217-pound wide receiver joined the Bills as a fourth-round (107th overall) draft selection in 2010, and spent the 2010 and 2011 seasons on injured reserve in addition to time on the Bills practice squad during the 2012 season.

He led Connecticut in his senior year with 48 receptions for 893 yards and eight touchdowns en route to All-Big East Conference second team honors.

Earlier today, Bills announced defensive tackle Kyle Williams signed a contract extension with the team. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Williams, a four-time Pro Bowler (2010, 2012-14), is the longest tenured Bill and will enter his 10th season with the team in 2015. In 2014, Williams played in 15 games for the Bills while racking up 41 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 15 quarterback hits and eight tackles for loss en route to earning Pro Bowl honors.

Williams has tallied 34.5 sacks in his career - the most by any defensive tackle in Bills team history. 

A 6-1, 303-pound LSU product, Williams originally entered the NFL in 2006 as a fifth-round pick (134th overall) by the Bills. 

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Bills signed former Seahawks and Jets wide receiver Percy Harvin to a one-year contract.
