NWAA Wildcats win Lew-Port tourney

The Niagara Wheatfield Athletic Association Wildcats celebrated a win over the Wilson Jr. Lakeman, 17-0, at the annual Lew-Port Classic Tournament held Sunday, Aug. 24.

This is the Wildcats second consecutive year winning this tournament. Brandon Higgins who had nine tackles led the Wildcats defense. Austin Osetkowski had seven tackles. Griffin Conwell had six tackles. Jake Leising had five tackles and an interception. Thomas Peltier had four tackles and broke up two pass plays and Noah Mixon chipped in with five tackles as well.

Jake Dewolf who had two touchdowns and 164 yards rushing led the Wildcats offense. Jake Leising had 15 yards rushing. Ian Evans had 42 yards rushing and passed for 75 yards.

Christopher Gordan passed for a 175 yards. Nick Stott rushed for 40 yards. Tristan Vandenberg kicked a 30-yard field goal and rushed for 16 yards.
