A heavy rainstorm moved in at 5 p.m. Friday, forcing Ransomville Speedway officials to cancel the racing program slated for the night.

"The weather is certainly frustrating to say the least," said PR Director Tana Robinson. "The bright side? Hopefully we are getting it out of the way early in the season and will enjoy sunny skies and dry weather moving forward."

Coming up on Wednesday, May 14, is an open practice on the big track. All racecars are invited. Gates will open at 5 p.m., and practice will begin at 6:30 p.m. Pit admission is $15. Grandstands are free of charge. Tech will be available.

Next Friday, May 16, Investors Services will present a "$2,000-to-win" FinditQuick.com modified special along with the Tri-Track Sportsman Series. Plus, there will be a Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stock 30, the Gippsters Collision 4 Bangers, and the Van Raine Construction Novice Sportsman.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. in the pit area and 6 p.m. in the grandstands. Racing will begin at 7:15 p.m. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and students, $6 for kids 8-12, and ages 7 and under are admitted free. Pit admission is $22 for members and $27 for nonmembers.
