"A Taste of The Niagara Region" set for Feb. 8

The Western New York community continues to show support to homeless and abandoned animals. Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue reports an outpouring of support for the organization's second annual "Heart to Heart" fundraising event, "A Taste of The Niagara Region." The list of restaurant and caterer participants is growing on a daily basis for the family-friendly event, which planned for Saturday, Feb. 8, from noon to 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston, 505 Cayuga St.

Donations of signature appetizers, main course items, desserts and beverages from restaurants and caterers will make the event possible, and help raise much-needed funds to enable the organization to continue its work of rescuing animals in need and finding suitable homes for them. While the list is still growing, participating restaurants and caterers to date include Apple Granny Restaurant, Brickyard Pub and B.B.Q., Brio Pizzeria, De La Casa Mexican Restaurant, DiCamillo Bakery, Donna Eick's, Favorite's Pizzeria, Formal BBQ, The Griffon Pub, The Lewiston Village Pub, Orange Cat Coffee Co., Smith Brother's Pizza, Tin Pan Alley Restaurant, Town Hall Restaurant and The Village Bake Shoppe.

Guests can vote on their favorite dish at the event and then name "The Best of The Taste of The Niagara Region."

The fundraiser includes music, a basket raffle with more than 100 items, plus major prize drawings. Persons need not be present to win.

The church has free, handicap-accessible parking.

Tickets are $20 per person and may be purchased by check made payable to Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue (mail to Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue, PO Box 462, Lewiston NY 14092; include email address and phone number for receipt confirmation); and online using PayPal at www.heartofniagara.org.
