The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, will present Katharine McPhee on Sunday, Nov. 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre. Tickets are $77, $62 and $47.

Actress and Columbia recording artist McPhee spent the past two years starring in the Steven Spielberg/NBC TV series "Smash" in New York City. She is currently in the studio working on her next solo record, due out later this year. The album will feature McPhee's collaborations with some of the industry's top songwriters.

Shortly following her rise to fame as the runner-up on season five of "American Idol," McPhee's self-titled debut album exploded on the Billboard 200. It was the best chart debut for a female artist during that period in two years.

McPhee co-starred in the hit comedy "House Bunny." She was featured on two PBS specials: "Foster and Friends" and "Chris Botti," in Boston alongside Sting, Andrea Bocelli and John Mayer.

In addition to her acting and singing career, McPhee is a passionate philanthropist and the celebrity ambassador for Malaria No More. Proceeds from her Buffalo concert will benefit the Ronald McDonald House.

This concert is presented by The Derico of East Amherst Corp., and its employees (a locally owned McDonald's organization). The Ronald McDonald House of Buffalo is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Since opening its doors to families of seriously ill or injured children, the Ronald McDonald House of Buffalo has provided comfortable, affordable lodging for 18,000 families. The Ronald McDonald House is a family's "home-away-from-home" when their child requires specialized medical care at a Buffalo hospital.

Tickets are available at the Center for the Arts Box Office (weekdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.) and tickets.com. To charge tickets, call 1-888-223-6000. For more information, call 716-645-2787 or visit www.ubcfa.org or www.katharinemcphee.com.
