Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will again be celebrating summer in the Cataract City by "Rockin' the Park" at Schoellkopf Park.

The medical center will host two free concerts at the historic outdoor venue, located on Portage Road at Pine Avenue on the east end of the medical center campus.

•On Monday, July 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., music will be provided by the popular band Soul Committee. A past winner of Blues Beat Magazine's "Muddy" Award as Band of the Year, Soul Committee performs an eclectic mix of classic R&B, soul, blues and reggae music, and has proven to be a popular entertainment choice at local nightclubs and festivals.

•The park will rock to music by The A List Band from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22. Formed in 2006, The A-List Band covers songs from six decades with a playlist that ranges from '60s classic rock and '70s disco to the hits of the '90s and today. The popular band performs more than 100 shows a year.

Food and beverages will be available in the park on both dates.

"We're very excited to be offering two summer concerts this year," said Ann Marie Tucker, Memorial's vice president for foundation and community relations. "This is our way of sharing this beautiful park with our neighbors and thanking the community for all its support."

Schoellkopf Park was built in 1913 and restored to its former majesty in a makeover that was completed in 2008. Designed by award-winning landscape architect Joy Kuebler, it now looks much as it did nearly a century ago.
