The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, will present Savion Glover on Thursday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre, located at the Center for the Arts, North Campus.

Savion Glover's newest program, "SoLo in TiME," is a continuation of the "HooFeRzCLuB" tradition of interpreting music through tap dancing's percussiveness - using tap as sound, and sound as dance. Accompanied by his newest dance band, Bare Soundz, live flamenco vibes, and his own acclaimed "Hooferz style," Glover and company explore the percussive medley of flamenco through the relationship between flamenco music and tap dancing as song.

Internationally renowned for his dancing skills, Glover recently performed on "Dancing with the Stars" and was introduced as "the greatest tap dancer in the world." At age 12, Glover made his Broadway debut in "The Tap Dance Kid." At age 15, he became one of the youngest males to be nominated for a Tony award for his performance in "Black and Blue." He would later go on to star in the Broadway musical "Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk." Glover also co-choreographed and was the central motion-capture dancer for "Mumble" in the hit animated film "Happy Feet."

Glover studied under the late, great Gregory Hines, who gave one of his last public performances at the Center for the Arts. About Glover's performances, The New York Times has said, "To see Mr. Glover dance is to see a virtuosic and authentic artist at work" and "the soul of Mr. Glover's performance is found in his nimble feet and legs, which he uses to pound out rhythms with blinding speed."

Tickets for "Savion Glover - SoLo in TiME" are $47.50 and $37.50 general public, and $31.50 and $26.50 for students (any school). Tickets are available at the Center Box Office (Monday-Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and all Ticketmaster locations, including ticketmaster.com. To charge tickets, call 1-800-745-3000 (in Canada, 1-416-870-8000).
